Our agenda is the future of energy. Our areas of interest cover the politics and changing geography of the global energy system.
Cambridge Centre for Energy Studies is a multidisciplinary team of researchers and project coordinators linked to a wider network of specialists in academia, government and business.
We convene the best minds to discuss and debate the most pressing issues in global energy security, collaborating with academics from many departments within the University of Cambridge, including Engineering, Architecture, Physics, Applied Mathematics and Geography, as well as academic partners and advisors in Europe, India, Africa, Central Asia, China and the USA.
Together we investigate systems of decision-making in networks, organisations and companies to identify critical points where interventions can be applied that will enable society to adapt and respond to change. We analyse power relationships, governance structures and engines of institutional change in regional and multilateral networks to understand where the most critical stressors on the global energy system may occur over the next year, five years and beyond.
The Centre was established in October 2007 and is based at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. We gratefully acknowledge the generous support for our activities and special projects, from BP, ExxonMobil, Grosvenor, Deloitte, the Moore Foundation, the Malaysian and Commonwealth Studies Centre, the Commonwealth Secretariat and Virgin.
